About JP Geonomics

Retired general surgeon. Interest: real nutrition, not processed and synthetic food; true history, not historical lies; true economics based on energy flow, as all life on Earth is a manifestation of energy derived from the Sun. No Sun's energy, no life on earth. Geography, where human interactions take place, both good and evil, where civilizations arise and fall. But above all, the pursuit of truth.

Large Middle East couldron is brewing around the corner…

All the ducks are lining up in a row. Opposing forces are positioning themselves. Turkey and the US are making common cause against the President of Syria, Basar El-Assad. Incerlik air base in Turkey near the Syrian border is available to the US. Saudi Arabia and Israel are about to  join the Turkish-American operation in Syria. American drones are bombing Syrian government troops, a very new development. The escalation has started. Kurds, feeling betrayed by the US,will be fighting ferociously on Assads side. There are about 35 million Kurds in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Lebanon. Almost 25 million plus are in Eastern Turkey alone. One can say that eastern Turkey is the heart of Kurdistan. Actually, the Kurds are already fighting on the Syrian government side. Erdogan, president of Turkey, does not have a majority. His rule depends on a coalition and Turkey is unstable. The Saudi Arabian regime is also not very stable. There are attacks taking place in Saudi Arabia along the Yemeni border. The war in Yemen against the Houthis is not going too well. Two days ago or so, Saudi tanks rolled into Yemen to support the forces of the former president, Hadi. Israel also supports ISIS and wants to depose Assad and partition Syria as well as Iraq. But above all, it wants the waters of the Litani River in Lebanon. Hesbullah stands in its way and Hesbullah is fighting on Assad’s side. Israel is water poor; it imports nearly half its fresh water needs from Turkey.

The forces supporting Assad are Hesbullah of Lebanon and Hamas of Gaza. Iran is supporting Assad unconditionally. With the sanctions against Iran removed, its power has increased. If Turkey and the US send troops into Syria, Iran will send its volunteers. And of course, there are Russia and China who support Syria. Russia will not back off in Syria. China will also not back off. President Putin of Russia had a very intense meeting with the Turkish ambassador recently. It was reportedly two hours long. It is alleged that he told the Turkish ambassador that if Turkey invades Syria, Russia will make sure that Syria becomes the Turkish Stalingrad. This time, the Kurds will fight ISIS, the Turks, and the US to the death. The Turkish gas pipe-line will not be built. War is starting. Turkey, the US, Israel, the Saudis, and ISIS say Assad must go. Iran,China,Russia say: NO WAY.

Will it be inflation, deflation,or economic collapse?

The economy of the world is very uncertain.Nobody really knows what is going to happen.Main stream economists and “celebrity” economists are saying things are improving and that the economy is entering “escape velocity” for take-off. There has been no “take off” and there will be no take off.The US and the world economy are in slow motion collapse. The Federal Reserve cannot fix the economy because they do not know how. If they did, they would have fixed it by now. Zero interest rates and quantitative easing have propped up the system, but not repaired it or rejuvenated it. After the Winter sleep, comes the awakening and rebirth. There has been no rejuvenation of the economy. There is lethargy, except for the bond market, the stock market, and high end real estate. In other words there is shunting in the economy. Liquidity is being shunted into financial assets based on debt. This has driven the dollar higher. Money from the rest of the world, both legitimate and illegitimate is running into US financial assets. Salto mortale is just around the corner…

The reason I say that economic salto mortale is around the corner is because energy entering the US economic system is decreasing, not increasing. Whatever energy is available is being shunted into paper. In other words, the US economy is suffering from a financial shock. In medicine septic shock is a  well known condition, a very serious one. Patients end up in the ICU. The patient suffers from an infection and goes into sepsis, a generalized infection throughout the body. It is usually a complication of a surgical procedure. The patient suffers hypoxemia even though the patient is on oxygen. This is due to shunting. The right ventricle pumps venous blood into the lungs to get oxygenated but the alveoli of some lobes are collapsed and then blood does not get oxygenated. The patient develops hypoxemia and acidosis. Then they are intubated and placed on a respirator with controlled respiration, on post end expiratory pressure, or PEEP. Very careful monitoring is needed: the US and world economies are ready for the ICU.

It is immaterial whether it is deflation or inflation. One thing is certain: the living standard of Americans is rapidly deflating. Rents are going up. Health care costs are going up. Food prices  are going up (or the size of packaging is getting smaller but the prices are remaining the same). But wages are not keeping up. American corporations,as well as European have embraced the principle of the PRECARIAT: total uncertainty for workers. Society is being frayed.Socio-economic conditions are worsening. Violence is increasing. This is now becoming a socioeconomic problem. The Federal Reserve is doing plenty of talking, but cannot do any walking, because it is in a wheel chair. It does not matter whether it will be inflation or deflation, salto mortale is around the corner. We shall see and time will tell…

The Wall of Enmity

When the USSR dissolved itself in 1991, Francis Fukuyama,an American historian, proclaimed the end of history. Western Liberal Philosophy won and everything would be great and there would be no more serious conflict in the world. It was a noble assumption but totally wrong. With the collapse of the USSR, the equilibrium of the world was lost. All things in the Universe tend to go to the  lowest entropy level. A system is most stable when it uses the least amount of energy and this according to the Second Law of Thermodynamics. With the demise of the USSR, the US tried to establish “Unipolarity” in the world. Our planet is bipolar. A unipolar planet cannot exist. Unipolarity failed and the US is trying to consolidate the spheres of influences in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, and Latin America. Hence, their negotiation with South East Asia and Europe for free trade agreements with the dollar as the preferred currency of trade. To consolidate its power in Europe,it is building a “Wall of Enmity” between the European Union and Russia.

The keystone of American power in the world is Europe. Europe and Russia have been moving closer together. There has been a fusion of strategic and economic interests between the two parts of Europe .After all, Europe is nothing but a large peninsula of Afro-Eurasian landmass. As Napoleon stated, geography is destiny. Europe and Russia belong together. This is anathema to the US. Hence, build a Wall of Enmity between Russia and European Union.

The Wall of Enmity would run from three Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania in the North East of Europe through Poland and end in the Ukraine in the South East. The US was hoping for military and naval bases in the Black Sea on the Crimean Peninsula. But Crimea is lost, Donbass is lost as well. As everybody knows, civil war is going on in the Ukraine. People in the rest of the Ukraine are unhappy with the junta in Kiev. Pro-Russian partisan activity is taking place in the regions of Kharkov, Dniepropetrovsk, Zaporozhe, Kherson and Odessa. Also Zacarpathia and Lviv regions are unstable. The economy of the Ukraine is collapsing. Yes, Russia is keeping the Ukraine afloat.Three possibilities await the Ukraine: number one is war and Americans are eager for war. They are training and arming the regime in Kiev.If war starts Ukrainians will not really fight Donbass. Instead, they will fight the junta and the Americans.Donbass forces with the help of the rest of the Ukraine will march on Kiev. Number two: the Ukrainian Army will revolt and join the Donbass forces. Number three: the revolt of Ukrainians who will restore brotherly relations with Russia. Russia is just waiting for these outcomes. Americans are clueless about Ukrainian history, etc. The Ukrainian soul is the Russian soul. There are intimate family ties between Russians and Ukrainians. Most Ukrainian refugees are ending up in Russia where they are well received as relatives. Even the Baltic states and Poland will be knocking on Russian doors. The rest of Europe will follow, especially Italy, France, Hungary, and Germany ( once Angela Merkel is gone). The Trans-Atlantic relationship will be frozen in the icy waters of the North Atlantic. The Enmity Wall in Europe will thus not be built. We shall see.Time will tell.

The FED will defend the stock market to its’ last breath

The FED claims that it does not watch the market. It is concerned but not overly. This is further from the truth than one can imagine. The two things they are concerned with is debt and the stock market, because the essence of the economic system is debt and the stock market. Debt is the blood of the system and the stock market is the heart. The economy is a living organism. Let us compare it to a human body. The key components of the human body are the blood and the heart. The heart cannot do without the blood, and blood cannot do without the heart, and the whole body cannot exist without either of them. Massive heart attack and the patient dies. Massive blood loss,if a transfusion is not available, and the patient dies…

What happens when the stock trading opens and there are no bids? The market goes into free fall. The “Plunge Protection Team” moves in and artificial bids are created to stabilize the market. Most of the time the Plunge Protection Team is successful and they blame the situation on some “glitch”. But one day they will NOT be able to prevent the crash. The crash will occur, the stock market will be closed and the consequences will be catastrophic, equivalent to a massive heart attack in a human being: the FED will and must support the stock market.

What happens when the credit ceases? There will be no blood. The FED will try to infuse liquidity, but if credit infusion is insufficient or inappropriate, the system will collapse. The patient will die. So the FED will try to do everything to save the system but may not succeed. This will signal the death of the economic system and the beginning of the new age. It will be very, very interesting!

A Tale of Two International Communities

When western leaders speak of the “International Community”,they are mainly concerned with western nations. Statements such as “the international community will not tolerate this or that”, for example, can be translated as : the US will not tolerate it. Recent events have demonstrated this point. The International Community will isolate Russia with respect to its policy on Ukraine. It will sanction and punish Russia. So Russia must improve its behavior.,etc, etc, etc,ad nauseum. The US is the leader of this community and the US uses this façade of “International Community” to carry out its foreign policy. This type of behavior is applied to other countries which do not buckle under US pressure. But there is another International Community which I call the “International Community of the Rest”…

This “International Community of The Rest” numbers more than six billion people and contributes more than fifty percent of the world’s gross product. It is composed of the peoples of Africa, Asia, Latin America who have suffered and still suffer from the oppression, exploitation, and plunder of their natural resources. They also possess most of the natural resources of the Earth. One must remember that most of the wealth of the world comes from the resources of the earth through human labour and ingenuity. They are awakening and coalescing around Russia. A perfect example was the May 9th Victory Parade in Moscow. The International Community of the West boycotted the parade, but the International Community of the Rest celebrated the event. They celebrated the ceremony as the symbol of victory over fascism, slavery, oppression, humiliation, and exploitation. The special military forces of China, India, and others marched in the parade, creating a powerful symbol of coalescence.

The Afro-Eurasian land mass is fusing together. This is a  slow process but it is accelerating. “Silk Roads” East and West, North and South are being created. European states will be joining to ensure their economic well being. The future of Europe is tied to Afro-Eurasia. Latin America wants to join and form the block that I would call LAAFROEURASIA (Latin American/Africa/Europe and Asia). That is the fusion of the peoples of the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia into an economic and symbiotic relationship. These countries are also de-dollarizing. They will be saying adios, au revoir, auf weider sehen to the North Atlantic. Canada and the US may face isolation. It will be interesting, provided there is no war. Only time will tell…

Why is capitalism in crisis?

Why is capitalism in crisis? C’est la question du jour! Various reasons are given, and in my opinion, all nonsensical. We are led to believe it is the fault of the oligarchs, politicians, governments, opposing ideologies, etc. but capitalism itself is almost flawless. Just obey the laws of capitalism, whatever they may be, and everything will be great. But it is not so simple.

It is very unlikely that capitalism would have developed without the discovery of the New World and the Age of Discovery. One could say and claim that Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain were the originators of capitalism because they sponsored the Voyage of Christopher Columbus to find sea passage to India. Immense wealth potential was at the disposal of Spain and subsequently other European states, such as Portugal, France, Britain, Holland, Belgium, and much later, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the USA.Many of these countries, if not all, fought amongst themselves for the wealth and spoils of the world. They were called imperialist wars.

With the conquest of most of the world, all the conditions of capitalism were there- immense continents with limitless natural resources of all kinds, easily subjugated populations, cheap labour, slavery, huge monopoly markets for imperial countries’ goods, and a monopoly of money in gold and silver. Most important of all, strong militaries to impose its will, culture ,domination, plunder, and exploitation of its possessions. The colonial countries became very rich.Technologically advanced to enhance exploitation and plunder of the colonies.Capitalism was described as very progressive, dynamic.

The chief modus operandi of capitalism is debt. For the capitalist economy to grow, debt must grow. When US became the strongest country in the world it crowned itself Emperor of the world in 1944 in Bretton Woods, the so called Bretton-Woods Agreement. With it,the dollar became not only the reserve currency of the world, but also official currency of the world.Everything was traded in dollars. Two institutions were created to indebt and enslave the world: the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. These two agencies indebted the post-colonial world into a new form of slavery.By de-linking the dollar from gold and placing it on oil, the petro dollar, the enticement of the world became more intense. Even the Hungarian “goulash Communism” was based on debt to the IMF and other banks.

Debt cannot grow to the heavens. It has limits. The Universe maybe infinite but the earth is finite.Debt growth is reaching its finite stage. The energy entering the US economic system is decreasing but the energy needed to maintain its internal and external operation is increasing. The US is simply sustaining itself through the reserve status of the dollar. The world is de-dollarizing itself. US economic power is in a precarious position. It is based on three pillars of paper: the dollar, the bond market, and the stock market and all three are based on debt. As debt cannot grow, there cannot be any recovery, despite zero interest, multiple quantitative easing, whether, they be covert or overt. One or all three pillars of paper will buckle and collapse. It will be very interesting…
